Payroll Services for Small Employers in Walton-on-Thames
Running payroll means paying your staff correctly, giving them payslips and reporting every payment to HMRC on time. No Hassle Accounts can run your payroll for you, so you can pay your team without working through the rules each time.
Our outsourced payroll service is for small employers in Walton-on-Thames, across Surrey and elsewhere in England and Wales. That includes limited companies where the director is the only person on the payroll, and construction businesses that also pay subcontractors under CIS.
If we also handle your bookkeeping or year-end accounts, your wages and payroll costs are recorded in the same place as everything else.
What our payroll service typically includes
- Working out pay, tax, National Insurance and other deductions each pay period
- Producing payslips for your employees
- Sending payroll reports to HMRC each time you pay your staff
- Telling you how much to pay HMRC and when
- Helping with workplace pension duties, starters, leavers and year-end payroll tasks
Who our payroll service suits
- Businesses taking on their first employee
- Small employers who would rather not run payroll themselves
- Directors of limited companies who pay themselves a salary
- Construction businesses with staff and subcontractors
If you are about to take on your first employee, you need to register as an employer with HMRC before your first payday. That applies even if the only person you are paying is yourself, as the sole director of a limited company.
What we need from you
When we first set up your payroll:
- Your employer PAYE reference and Accounts Office reference, if you are already registered
- Details of each employee: name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, start date, pay rate and tax code or starter information
- Your pay dates and how often you pay (weekly or monthly, for example)
- Details of your workplace pension scheme, if you have one
- Your previous payroll records, if you are moving from another provider
Each pay period:
- Hours worked, overtime, bonuses or commission
- Sickness, holiday or other absence
- Any new starters, leavers or changes to pay
Payroll deadlines in plain terms
Under Real Time Information (RTI), employers report pay to HMRC on or before each payday using a Full Payment Submission. Employees should get their payslip on or before payday too. Getting the information to us in good time before each payday helps keep this on track.
Employers also have workplace pension duties. This means enrolling eligible staff into a pension scheme and paying employer contributions for them. Our article on why accurate payroll matters covers common payroll mistakes and the records to keep.
CIS for construction businesses
If your business pays subcontractors for construction work, you are likely to be a contractor under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). Contractors check new subcontractors with HMRC, make deductions from their payments where needed and send a monthly CIS return. If you also have employees, HMRC usually combines PAYE and CIS deductions into one monthly or quarterly payment.
We work with construction businesses, including those in CIS. Our CIS and construction accounting page explains how we can help contractors and subcontractors.

How often can you run payroll?
We can run payroll to suit how you pay your staff, such as weekly or monthly. Tell us your pay dates when you get in touch.
Can you take over payroll from another provider?
