Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the website, for example pages visited, how visitors arrived, device and browser type, approximate location, and actions such as scrolling, following links and sending the contact form. It only runs if you select Accept for analytics cookies. We do not use it for advertising. Google Signals and Google’s advertising features are switched off for our Google Analytics property. Our cookie policy lists the cookies involved.

Who we share it with

We share information only where needed for the purposes above:

  • Our web agency, Juggernaut Technologies, which hosts and maintains the website on servers in the UK and runs the email relay that sends contact form messages to our inbox. Juggernaut acts only on our instructions under a written contract.
  • Microsoft, which provides our email service (Microsoft 365) and hosts the info@nohassleaccounts.co.uk mailbox.
  • The provider of our practice management software, which stores enquiries and client records on our behalf.
  • Google, for Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) and reCAPTCHA spam protection on the contact page.
  • Professional advisers, HMRC, regulators, courts or the police, where the law requires or allows it.

The fonts on our website are stored on our own web server, so loading a page does not send your information to a font provider.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not add people who enquire to any mailing list.

Information sent outside the UK

Our website is hosted in the UK. Google (for Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA) and Microsoft (for our email) may process information in the United States and other countries. Both companies are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the UK-US data bridge), and their data protection terms include safeguards for transfers outside the UK. You can ask us for more detail about these safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Copies of contact form emails in the website’s email log: 14 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Enquiries that do not lead to us working together: 12 months from our last contact with you, then deleted.
  • Enquiries that lead to us working together become part of our client records.
  • Web server access logs: kept by our website host for 90 days for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Google Analytics data: 2 months, the retention period set in our Google Analytics property. After that Google deletes the visit-level data and we only see totals.
  • Your cookie choice: stored in your browser for 365 days. Our website also keeps a record of each choice (a random consent ID, whether you accepted or rejected, your country, a shortened IP address and the time) so we can show what you agreed to. We review these records at least once a year and delete those we no longer need.

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal information;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;

  • receive information you gave us in a reusable format, where we use it with your consent or for a contract;
  • withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off analytics with the cookie icon at the bottom left of every page. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew.

Your right to object: you can object at any time to our use of your information on the basis of legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or we need it for legal claims.

These rights do not apply in every situation, and we will explain if one does not. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. If our spam check blocks a genuine message, please email or phone us.

To use your rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. If your request is complex, or you make several requests, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why within the first month.
